Abstract

Advances in pediatric diagnosis and treatment have improved acute-stage survival. However, inadequate health management during recovery has become a major factor affecting children's long-term outcomes. China currently lacks systematic standards for post-illness health management in children, resulting in fragmented post-discharge rehabilitation guidance and disease monitoring. Addressing respiratory, neurological, nutritional, and other common pediatric disorders, this consensus proposes a continuous health management model from hospital to home. It systematically outlines pathways for clinical assessment, functional rehabilitation, nutritional support, and psychological and behavioral interventions during recovery, with particular emphasis on oral-motor training, maintenance of respiratory function, and psychosocial support in promoting children's growth and development. This consensus aims to standardize clinical care pathways, reduce disease recurrence and disability, and provide pediatricians with evidence-based guidance on follow-up and rehabilitation, thereby promoting comprehensive physical and psychological recovery in children.
