Abstract

Insufficient outdoor activity in early childhood has become a major global public health concern. Existing studies have shown that early outdoor activity is closely associated with children's neuropsychological development; however, systematic reviews in this area remain absent. This review systematically searched and analyzed relevant literature to summarize the main impacts of early outdoor activity on neuropsychological development in children. The findings indicate that early outdoor activity contributes positively to the development of motor skills, language acquisition, behavioral regulation, social competence, self-regulation, and mental health in children. In conclusion, this review will provide a theoretical basis and practical reference for promoting outdoor activity in early childhood.
