Abstract

Cerebral palsy (CP) is a chronic, non-progressive brain injury characterized by autonomic dyskinesia due to prenatal developmental abnormalities or perinatal or postpartum central nervous system damage.Urinary incontinence is one of the common urinary problems in children with CP, which has a negative impact on the recovery process and quality of life. This review summarizes the epidemiology, assessment, diagnosis, risk factors and treatment of urinary incontinence in children with CP, so as to provide reference for reducing the influence of risk factors and taking early intervention to improve the possibility of urinary self-control in children with CP.

Key words

cerebral palsy / urinary incontinence / autonomic dyskinesia
