Abstract

Objective To explore the objectivity differences of responses to name between autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and children with normal development.Method A total of 22 ASD children diagnosed in Children Development & Behavioral Center of the Third Affiliated Hospital of SUN Yat-sen University from May to August in 2016 and 21 controls was enrolled in this study. In standard procedure testing the response to name. After that, two professional evaluators scored the response to name, and automatic system computational analyzed the time of response to name and duration to response.Result 1)There were no significant differences in scores of response to name between ASD children and normal children (Z=15.764,P<0.01).2)The computational analysis showed that in response to name procedure, the response time showed no differences in ASD group and control group (Z=-1.593,P=0.113),But response duration was shorter in ASD group than that in control group(Z=-3.4,P=0.001).Conclusions Compared to normal children,2~3-year-old children with ASD have inferior behavior in response to name. The characteristics of abnormal response to name in ASD children include less eye contact and shorter response duration.
