Abstract

Objective To investigate the status of newborn's birthweight in 10 years, analyze the influencing factors, and provide scientific basis for the health care of women and children in our country. Methods The information of neonates were collected in one hospital of Hubei province during the period of January 2005- December 2014,and the data of all 88 474 live births were analyzed. Results The mean birth weight of 88 474 neonates was (3 242.60±532.86)g.The main factors affected the birth weight of neonate were gestational age, followed by the number of fetuses, gender, maternal education, mother's age, residence type, and parity. Conclusion The neonatal birth weight is affected by many factors.Appropriate interventional measures should be adopted to improve the quality of the population in China.
