【Objective】 To analysis the outcome of IQ development in children with partial seizures, and research independent influential factors of the IQ development. 【Methods】 The IQ of 106 children with epilepsy who was diagnosed as partial seizures according to the results of symptoms,EEG and MRI were assessed.Children were categorized as normal IQ group (IQ≥80) and IQ dysfunction group (IQ<80) according to outcome of cognitive function. Univariate and multivariate Logistic regression analysis were used to determine influential factors of IQ development. 【Results】 Multivariate logistic regression analysis found age at oneset(P=0.000,OR=6.348,95%CI:2.290~17.599),seizure frequency (P=0.017,OR=3.479,95%CI:1.250~9.684),outcome of MRI(P=0.004,OR=4.849,95%CI:1.654~14.212),seizure type (P=0.011,OR=3.527,95%CI:1.330~9.349), numbers of anti-epileptic drugs(P=0.012,OR=3.862,95%CI:1.341~11.124) were the independent influential factors of IQ development.Epilepsy duration, age had no significant association with IQ development. 【Conclusions】 Early age at onset, high seizure frequency,MRI-positive,secondary generalized seizures and more numbers of anti-epileptic drugs indicate IQ development more easily impaired in children with partial seizures.
