Abstract

Individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) may exhibit varying degrees of social skill deficits, which have profound implications for interpersonal relationship development, quality of life enhancement, and educational learning outcomes.Although traditional therapeutic approaches have demonstrated efficacy, they present limitations in terms of interactive flexibility, generalizability, and engagement.Game-based interventions, as an emerging strategy, leverage multimodal interactive design to effectively stimulate children's social motivation and initiative, thereby creating greater possibilities for their social development. In recent years, sandplay therapy, Lego-based therapy, and serious games have all demonstrated positive outcomes in intervention contexts. This article reviews and analyzes research on game-based interventions targeting social skills in children with ASD, aiming to provide novel insights for intervention programs for these children.
